Together with brother Bo Van der Werf, Otti Van der Werf is one of the founding members of experimental jazz fusion group Octurn. He originally began his musical career as a drummer, but soon swapped his sticks for electric bass guitar.
Apart from Octurn you could see him at work with, among others, Greetings From Mercury, Laurent Blondiau Quintet, Kris Defoort and Pierre Van Dormael. He also developed an impressive career in the world of pop and world music, including internationally renowned Zap Mama and singer Daan who is very popular in Belgium.
Tom Van Dyck studied at the Jazzstudio with Kurt Van Herck, Ben Sluijs and Jeroen Van Herzeele. In the conservatory of Rotterdam he was taught by Dick de Graaf and Jasper Blom. He also took master classes with Lee Konitz, Kenny Weehler and Joe Lovano.
